About Me

I’m an academic and former consultant whose academic expertise centers on the overlapping domains of entrepreneurship, strategic management, and research methods. I have a particular interest in the role of language in organizations.

The Academic

I am an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Central Florida. My research and teaching focus on entrepreneurship, strategic management, and research methods, three domains that reinforce each other in both theory and practice.

My academic work emphasizes how language and non-economic influences shape organizational outcomes. I hold a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Oklahoma and a B.S.B.A. in Entrepreneurship, Management Information Systems, and Operations Management from the University of Arizona.

The Consultant

Before entering academia, I worked at IBM Global Business Services in the strategy and change and supply chain practices. I supported clients in the IT, automotive, pharmaceutical, and industrial products sectors.

While I no longer pursue consulting as a primary career path, I welcome select opportunities for speaking, training, or research-consistent engagements.

The Person

Having recently moved to Orlando, FL after several years' absence, I am exploring and reacquainting myself with all the city has to offer. I enjoy kayaking, travel, cooking, tinkering around with new technologies (especially smart home), and still find time to play a video game from time to time. I enjoy playing piano as well... poorly.
